Academy Application and Selection Process

APPLICATION PROCESS


Due March 31st:

  • Application: Please complete the LGHS Academies Application- 2027 found here

April 2023:

  • Individual Interview: You will receive instructions and information for an interview.  Interviews will take place in-person at the student’s school site or Le Grand High School
 

Academy Selection criteria is based on:

  •   Submission of Program Application
  •   GPA of 2.8 or above
  •   Essay Questions
  •   Individual Interview

Expectations of Academy students:

  • Enroll in the Academy courses, including classes with an emphasis on Ag or Medical, Math, and Science
  • Commit to the Academy 4 year plan including pathway completing courses
  • Maintain a minimum of a 2.8 academic grade point average (GPA) 
  • Participate in summer enrichment and summer school programs
  • Participate in study academies, study trips, and other activities

Additional Graduation Requirements:
1. All coursework completed with a minimum GPA of 3.75 (Total Weighted GPA) by the last
semester of senior year. Start with the class of 2023
2. Completing at least one Advanced Placement (AP) or college-level class.
3. Present and Pass Senior Portfolio
4. No more than 18 absences and 15 tardies per semester (Senior Year).
5. No Assertive Disciplined, after freshman year.
