Scholarship Opportunities:

REQUIREMENTS

1. Applicant must be a resident of Merced or Mariposa Counties or an active member or child of an active member of the Merced-Mariposa Cattlemen’s Association who does not live in Merced or Mariposa Counties.

 

2. Students must plan a career in an agricultural field and have a major which reflects that including study within Career and Technical Education programs.

 

3. A personal interview may be requested. You will be contacted so that a meeting can be arranged with the scholarship committee.

 

4. Must have maintained a cumulative GPA of 2.5.

 

5. Application must be delivered to a committee member or postmarked by April 1. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. Students may add supplemental pages to the application as needed.

**DUE APRIL 1st**

The Silva Injury Law Community Scholarship Fund will select ten recipients annually to award a total of $20,000 in scholarship money. Five recipients will be selected bi-annually, once in June (Summer) and again in December (Winter). The funds will be distributed directly to the recipient’s educational institutions for tuition and educational expenses.

The Silva Injury Law Community Scholarship Fund is designed to support and empower high school seniors from Stanislaus County, Merced County, Monterey County, and San Luis Obispo County, aiding them in their journey toward higher education.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Silva Injury Law Community Scholarship, applicants must:
Be a high school senior attending a school in Stanislaus County, Merced County, Monterey County, or San Luis Obispo County.
Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Demonstrate financial need and a strong commitment to community service and involvement.
Plan to enroll in an accredited college or university in the United States for the upcoming academic year.

Application Requirements
Applicants are required to submit the following materials:
A completed application form.
An official high school transcript.
A letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or community leader.
Demonstration of financial need.
A 500-750 word essay responding to the prompt: “How have you positively impacted your community, and how has that experience influenced your future aspirations?”

Selection Process
A committee of professionals from Silva Injury Law will review applications. The recipients will be selected based on their academic achievements, community involvement, financial need, and the quality of their essays. The scholarship winners will be notified via email and announced on our website.
 
Deadline
Students may apply anytime throughout the year. Applications received before June 1st will be considered for the summer scholarships. Applications received after June 1st will be considered for the winter scholarships.

$2,500 Award
SCTC is America’s most effective organization representing the collective interests of the dried fruit and tree nut industries. For more than 90 years the SCTC has provided strong advocacy services and resources to its members. SCTC leverages its industry knowledge and experience to benefit its membership through a broad range of services and solutions.

Eligible Applicants:
1. Currently enrolled in college or a graduating high school senior headed to college.
2. Plan to attend a four-year college or university and major in an agriculture-based or related field.
3. Plan to focus on an Agriculture or Ag Business degree.
4. Has a strong academic record (college or high school) with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Application Submissions:
1. Complete application.
2. Applications must also include an unofficial transcript from applicants’ high school or college.
3. Two (2) Letters of Recommendation are required. Letters are to be signed and dated by the person providing the recommendation including contact information (e-mail or phone).

Application Award:
1. Award recipients will be required to submit official documentation signed by the school’s registrar confirming college enrollment. Scholarship funds will not be released until this information is submitted. Documentation must include student ID number.
2. Scholarship awards will be mailed to the recipient within 30 days of confirmation of enrollment.
The Members of the California Seed Association desire to assist outstanding college students in achieving their academic goals.
 
You Could Qualify
$2500 awards are made available for students who plan to enroll or are currently enrolled in a California college or university—awards for Fall of 2024.
 
Eligibility
Acceptable fields of study include, but are not limited to: Agribusiness with an emphasis on Plant Science, Botany, Plant or Seed Physiology, Plant Science, and Soil Science. Special interest in the California seed industry is an important component. High school graduating seniors, and undergraduate and graduate students enrolling or enrolled on a full-time basis in colleges or universities in the state of California are eligible.
 
Criteria
Awards are made based on the following criteria:
• Your affiliation through programs, internships, events, tours, and/or classes offered or promoted by the CSA Organization. Including the student’s present and future interest in the California seed industry in particular and agriculture in general
• Letter of recommendation
• Scholarship essay
• Your financial need
• Your scholastic achievement and activities

Deadlines
Applications must be received in the CSA Office no later than February 1, 2024. Public announcement of the awards will be made at the California Seed Association’s Annual Convention in March 2024. Scholarship recipients, as well as other applicants, will receive notification by mail following the announcement of the awards.
John and Julie Thurman Agricultural $300 Scholarship will be awarded to one outstanding senior in Stanislaus County and one in Merced County who plans to continue his or her education in agriculture. The application deadline for students will be March 25, 2024. The scholarship will be announced the first week in May.

A scholarship committee, selected by the County Superintendents of Schools office of both Stanislaus and Merced, shall select recipients of the scholarships and make such awards. The committee shall select the most highly qualified students from the total number of applicants from Stanislaus and Merced Counties.

Criteria to apply:
  1. Graduating students from a high school in Stanislaus County or Merced County are eligible to apply.
  2. Demonstrated an interest in a career in agriculture through his or her course of study and extracurricular activities.
  3. Recipients shall plan to attend either a two- or a four-year college or university as a full-time student and pursue a major course of study in agriculture or related subject matter.
  4. Earned a 2.8 grade point average (GPA) during their sophomore and junior years.

PLEASE ATTACH TO YOUR APPLICATION:
  1. Autobiographical essay (limit essay to a maximum of 2 pages) – including, but not limited to, a review of high school academic performance, involvement in extracurricular activities, and future goals as they relate to a career in agriculture.
  2. Three letters of character references.
  3. Transcript from sophomore and junior year to verify GPA. The Stanislaus County Scholarship Advisory Committee is pleased to announce that the John B. Allard scholarship will be made available to a graduating senior who qualifies.

Application deadline is March 25, 2024. Scholarships will be announced the first week in May.

Requirements:
  1. Scholarship is open to all students 3.00 GPA or higher (no specific major)

  5. A brief statement about your reasons for applying for this scholarship, career goals, and plans.
The C10 Junkeez is pleased to be able to offer scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to pursue a CTE Training Program after high school. The CTE scholarships are open to any graduating senior who plans to pursue CTE training after high school. To be eligible to apply for the CTE Scholarship, the applicant must:
  1. Meet and complete all of the criteria listed in the application.
  2. Be currently enrolled at Livingston High School or Le Grand High School.
  3. Be a high school senior.
  4. Be in the process of completing or have completed two (2) CTE courses, twenty elective credits, from the same CTE Career Pathway. This includes an introductory and an advanced level course in one of the following CTE Career Pathways:
● Automotive
● Industrial Maintenance
● Electronics/Electrical
● HVAC
● Welding/Metal Fabrication
● Mechanized Agriculture
● Public Safety
● Drafting Technology
● Truck Driving
● Public Safety
● Residential & Commercial Construction
● Transportation Diagnostics Service & Repair
● Diesel Equipment
● Auto Body
 
5. Be on track to graduate in 2024 from Livingston High School or Le Grand High School
6. State which institution where he/she plans to apply and attend for the selected program of study.
7. Clearly describe career and educational goals and what steps he/she is planning to take to achieve those goals.
8. The post-secondary CTE training plan must include one of the following:

• An industry certification or
• A one-year certificate program or a two-year associate degree, or
• A four-year degree in a CTE major area of study.
 
Application must be submitted via Google Forms no later than Friday, March 29, 2024, by 4:00 PM.
 

The scholarship amount is $500 and the total number of scholarships will be determined based on the quantity and quality of scholarship submissions.
